Cenk Uyghur is a very good talkshow-host.

I usually don't like the Young Turks. This was pretty good though.

I don't get libertarians... they say they hate how the gov't is bought off by corporations or whatever, but in their free market paradise, there would be like... only corporations.

The picture of the libertarian guy reminds me of some portrait of an NPC in an old 90s PC role-playing game.

Wayne Allyn Root just looks like a tool to me. I don't trust his face. Almost like a car salesman or something.

Free Market Capitalists and Fascists are my least favourite capitalists.

Yeah, thats it.. He reminds me of a game show host or used car salesman..

Now granted, the guy was or is some type of professional odds-maker in Las Vegas so maybe that has something to do with it, but Id rather listen to Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller over Wayne Root anyday on Liberty.

This interview was beautiful, it shows the true nature of libertarians, they claim to be against corporate America, they claim to be for the people, but in action, in what they fight for IS helping corporate America, Cenk (a liberal progressive, not a socialist or even social-democrat) tears this guy apart, and really shows his true colors.

I love "where are the protests" question, and when he tries to let the banks off the hook, the fact is Libertarians ALWAYS fight for things that support corporations, whens the last time you say tea party protests for campain finance reform, against corporate subsidies, and so on?

What I don't like is how Cenk always tries to in the end defend Capitalism, his solution is the government as a ref, problem is its a system where the teams higher the refs directly, and the teams win no matter who wins, he's missing out huge parts of Capitalism that are the real problem.

But as a progressive liberal talk host he does a great job of exposing hypocricy and corporatism.

You know I think the main thing your confusing is support for corporations with support for corporatism.

I guess you communists look at corporations and wealth builders in private property as the big burden on society.. whereas libertarians are going to look at corporatism - collusion between big business and big govt as the big burden on society...

You have to wonder what is going on in the video. That Root fellow is a particularly rabid dog when it comes to his ideology, he's not rational or reasonable at all. Most of Cenk's hits were pretty easily made showing this guy off to be a nutcase.

And that would all be OK if they just picked some idiot Tea Bagger up off the street--but Root was the Tea Bag VP candidate. You think he could have made a better case for hmself.

Libertarians and tea partiers never support corporatism in theory, however in practice somehow, they always oppose things that the corporations oppose, and generally never oppose things that corporations support, their hate for walfarism is always directed against the poor, things that end up helping corporations are never even brought up OR they are supported.

Not against an intelligent guy, the thing is tea partiers ARE NOT rational, they are suckers.

One great opportunity that Cenk missed was when the Libertarian said "the government works for US the corporations do not," that was a great opportunity to say "then why leave the Walfare of the US economy to people who don't even work for the US people, why would'nt we lave it to people who are accountable to US by law," then he might say but the government is corrupt then you say "Then why not take away power from those who are corrupting the government."

But from Cenks point of view thats not legitimate, because he's forgetting or ignoring the fact, that economic power, is social and political power.

This thread became a hell of a lot less interesting when I realised it was about someone winning an argument against someone rather than buying them and literally owning them because they were stupid enough to follow an ideology that called them property.
