I am highly disturbed by the fringe Nazi influence on modern Metal. I'm a big fan of Folk Metal, and I think the majority of folk metal is non-fascist but it seems like you can't help but trip over a few of those shitbag bands. Folk Metal is not alone now. Nazis are trying to do to the metal culture as a whole what they did to the image of Skinhead culture, which started as a politically conscious and multi-racial cultural movement in England in the 1970s. I don't want to see the words "Metalhead" and "Nazi" synonymous in the future. We leftists need to do something to counter this hijacking, such as forming Metal-culture Antifa chapters and such, as well as keep a watch and make a list of known Nazi Metal bands, or bands with Nazi members.
The roots of the problem are fairly simple, and it is so sad that a few lies can ruin a subculture. Metalheads are known for two things: rugged individualism and anti-Theism, particularly anti-Christianity. Metalheads see in the Nazis and in fascism in General a rebellion against the Christian moral norms, but nothing can be further from the case. We must highlight and educate to metalhead culture how Christians not only collabortated with the Nazis, the Nazis considered themselves to be Christian warriors who were saving white, western and Christian culture. The Paganism, Satanism, Atheism, etc. of the Nazi regime is a great myth. Even the few Nazi elite zealots who did preach against Christianity were in a repressed minority and were told be Hitler and the rest of the Christian Nazi majority to shut up. We need to show how Nazism supports right wing Christian chauvanism.
We also need to dispel the myth of "collectivism." It is pure niavete to think that any democratic or more collective society destroys the individual. In fact, it is the opposite. A communist system would highlight and elevate the individual, and would allow the individual to reach their full potential. Capitalism, and surely fascism and other totalitarian ideologies which some think are individualist oriented, supress the individual, limit their possibilities and coerce them.
This needs to be the basis of our propaganda to the Metalhead culture. Any input would be great.
