I bought a book penned by Sanyika Shakur aka Monster Kody Scott formerly of eight tray gangster crips, he wrote a brutal bloody and sometimes scary portrait of gang life in LA and various prisons, including incidents such as his first drive by at 12 where he shoots 2 people, to prison sodomy and rape, all the way to his transformation into a black nationalist,after he was converted by a somewhat racist muslim from nation of Islam who calls white people mutants :blink:.

I was wondering what your thoughts were on black nationalism and wether it can lead to geniunely revolutionary concioussness or wether it is 100% reactionary drivel like it appears.

Has anyone ever been involved in or read up on black nationalism, i know the black panthers started off black nationalists but they soon transformed into MLM class conciouss revolutionaries.

If you know that racial segregation is not compatible at all with revolutionary ideas of class struggle and solidarity, then you know the answer to this.

Socialists support black liberation and integration. Socialism does not support the idea that ethnic groups should remain separate, regardless of the skin color of the person who is arguing it.

Yeah i thinks its pretty reactionary stuff, though it is very understandable for oppressed angry black youth to see it as the only alternative if they havent been graced by mao lenin marx and engels.
