I have found this interview with Noam Chomsky as a very revealing stance that Chomsky has taken as he's progressed himself through his anarchist views as time's gone by. I would like all anarchists to watch this video & take note, because what Chomsky expresses here is exactly what I feel every 21st century anarchist must realize, & that is the State should be seen as the least of worries for the working class, & rather look at much more greater tyrannies else where. For the people, in a time of needing a defensive tool, the State can come & be used as such tool:

I agree with Chomsky regarding his stance on the current state-proletariat relations. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the 'state is the least of our worries,' but I do think the first one that must be tackled is the kapitalist con game. I usually dont advocate against Leninist ideas, assumming you dont adhere to history's revision of Leninism by subsequent regimes. So accepting the state as an ally isnt out of my political spectrum.

I don't know any anarchists who take Chomsky seriously as an anarchist. Chomsky was never really much of an anarchist (maybe at times) and the anarchist movement hasn't been very fond of him for quite some time.

I know I personally always considered him a libertarian socialist, and not an anarchist.

Well the term 'anarchist' itself is pretty twisted. In the United States, famous self proclaimed anarchists are people like; Bill O'Reily, Glen Beck, and Sarah Palin. Also the term libertarian is badly degenerated in the US as well.
