Attrition and activism

New deportation rules issued by Israel threaten tens of thousands of Palestinians with expulsion or arrest and imprisonment. At risk are Gazans living in the West Bank and any West Banker without legal residency ID, including foreign spouses.

The new expansion of residency restrictions go into effect on Tuesday, April 13. It's just one more method of attrition and gradual ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by the criminal occupation government. Israeli human rights groups oppose the new rules as well.

On the weekend after our last protest, Israeli soldiers killed four Palestinians, including two teenagers, in the West Bank villages of Iraq Burin and Awarta, near Nablus, when the "rubber bullets" they fired at protesters somehow turned out to be live rounds. An Israeli military investigation of the incidents "criticized" the soldiers...a ridiculous verbal slap for four horrific, unjustified killings.

By the way, our last protest was AWESOME! Temple SJP turned out in large numbers and other youthful newcomers joined in, giving the faithful regulars a much appreciated boost. Thanks so much to our new supporters as well as the "old" reliables. If we can do this every month, with everyone spreading the word and attracting greater numbers, we can build a strong presence and really make an impact in Philly! Let's keep up the momentum!!

After all, it's just 2 hours, 1 if that's all you can do, once a month. You'll feel great for it, because you'll be making a...
stand for justice, peace and an end to oppression! Come join us!
