Thanks. That thread has some works suggested by an anti-Maoist member, but are useful nonetheless.

If there are secondary sources on the Chinese revolution written by sympathizers or non-anti-communists, that would be more interesting. The one source I suggested is an example of this.

This. Mobo Gao does an excellent job of cleaning up any myths of "oppression" and "brainwashing" during the Cultural Revolution, as well as taking a few shots at Jung Chang's recount of the movement.

Comrade, Wheelwright and McFarlane did not write "China: Science walks on two legs", there is no noted auhor for this. On the spin on the book it says "Science for the people" - if this is the group of authors, i do not know. I thought listing that could also confuse the title.

Wheelwright and McFarlane wrote "The Chinese Road to Socialism" though.

I am also going to collect some articles for this.
