2007.
The whole city stood up against the fascist march in Novi Sad, Serbia. Too bad the police got a hold of them before we did.

Hey usually I see Antifa getting arrested at these protests and beaten by police, it's nice to see it the other way around.

One guy was arrested for throwing a burning torch at the Nazis. But he got released the next day, and he's still awaiting trial.

It always strikes me as absurd to see Slavic countrys having such a strong Facist movement, esecially when you look at Hitler's policys with reagurds Slav's.
Does Novi Sad have a strong anti-Facist tradition?

Perhaps the strongest in Serbia.
Memories of Nazi war crimes such as The 1942 Raid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1942_raid_in_Novi_Sad)are still alive in memory of most inhabitants of Novi Sad. In Novi Sad there is an antifa organization called AFANS (http://afans.org/), that is the best organized antifascist group in Serbia and the entire ex-Yugoslavian area. One of the reasons why it works so well is that common people support its actions, like this particular event. Literally the entire city was on their feet when they heard that 50 Nazis(from which almost half were their foreign camaraden) are planning to organize an event called Serbian March. There was about 50 of them and about 10.000 people in the antifascist column. Things got that out of hand for the Nazis that they didn't even show up, and the incident that is filmed above is when we found them in a coffee shop near the Monument of 1942 Raid. Eventually, news of that event spread through whole Serbia and this is what the cover of one of the biggest magazines looked like (http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/4821/getimgwn8.png), for example.
