Basically, the researcher argues that although we don't need fatty food and mad procreation for survival of our species anymore, we still partake in these things.

Thoughts? The article says "Because most big genetic changes take 10,000 years or more to pass... humans are still coded to respond to their environment in very primitive ways." What do you think are some solutions?

Recognizing problems allows us to mediate their effects. I agree with much of the article. Btw, sex addiction is not 'mad procreation' - global birth rate has slowly declined since the 1950's. (The effect of lower birth rate on population has been masked by increased life expectancy).

A sedentary lifestyle and the availability of food, especially inexpensive processed food, are factors that can be addressed.

Obesity is certainly outdated. On the other hand, from an evolutionary perspective, mad procreation is beneficial to the individual even though it is harmful to the society. Of course, we have been able to trick our instincts by using contraceptives. Take that mother nature. :p
