I was looking through the "Assimilation Plot (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AssimilationPlot?from=Main.Instrumentality)" page from TV Tropes and if you look at the bottom at the "real life" category you'll notice that it says this...

What Karl Marx expected with his Communist ideology, where money isn't needed and each person must work if they want to get rewarded (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EarnYourHappyEnding). Too bad it failed (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PeoplesRepublicOfTyranny).Not only their pointing fingers at State Capitalist/Stalinist societies as a 'example' why socialism/communism fails (as I would know they would probably retort to biological determinism and other pseudosciences to explain why...knowing them) but the most ironic part about it that the page even equates socialism/communism as a "assimilation plot" which further confirms (well it's proof actually) the bourgeois metaphorical demonization of it in many forms of media (i.e the Cybermen from Dr. Who, etc).

So the main point of the thread is that how can we respond to this? Even though socialism/communism are collectivist based ideologies but how can we debunk the notion that socialism is a "assimilation plot" that capitalists make it out to be or take out of context? (Which I notice that it not only represents the individualist/capitalist worst irrational fear but they also project this view to the working classes as propaganda for the sole purpose of capitalists maintaining their society?)

Incidentally, at present posters shall not see that statement on that page, and hopefully they shall not in the future either.

I've also seen the generic "Che killed everyone ever" on some page related to a Resistance.

All kinds of people with varying opinions add things to that website. Like the main page says it's a "buttload more informal" than Wikipedia. So, if you see a statement that was obviously made by a deluded/uniformed right-winger, just move along or add your own comment beneath it. Or you could delete it. ;)
