Does anyone have figures on membership numbers of UK trade unions? Also which one are affiliated to the Labour party and which are not.

Yeah I had a look at that after actually, it seems that the numbers for those two are;
Unite - 3 million members
Unison - 1.3million members

On the PCS page it says that they are the sixth largest union in the country with 320,000 members, does anyone know who the third, fourth and fifth are?

GMB has well over half a million, so they would be third or fourth, USDAW has around 350,000 so that would probably be fifth. Don't know for sure about which other one would be in there but my guess would be the NUT or maybe the CWU.

Cheers for that, so based on what I've got from wikipedia it stands at;

TUC - 6.5 million

Unite - 2 million (I looked at the page again it says its the transatlantic alliance with United Steelworkers that has nearly 3 million, Unite has around 2 million).
UNISON -1.3 million
GMB - 600,000
USDAW - 371,000
PCS - 320,000
NUT - 293,235
NASUWT - 274,911
CWU - 240,000

From what I can gather the top three are all affiliated to the Labour Party (although GMB has been less supportive). Can't find anything about USDAW/NUT/NASUWT. CWU is affiliated but looks like this could change and am I right in saying PCS is not affiliated to the Labour Party?
