I'm thinking of starting up an alternative to MoneySavingExpert.com for leftists. It will be less consumerist and commercial and more ethical. Kinda like free software compared to freeware. Any thoughts?

Go ahead, who's stopping you?

The whole notion of MoneySavingExpert is of course consumerist, what would a 'leftist' alternative bring to the table at all? I really don't get the premise.
For all its worth, I think MSE is a good wee website, helped me in the past for cheap flights and insurance.

Classic example, Martin Lewis blames the financial crisis on consumer debt (http://www.financialeducationpetition.com/) and calls for financial education for children presumably to save money better.

There is nothing wrong with consumerism nor with things being 'commercial.' Leftists can save money in the exact same ways conservatives can without any principles being violated. I don't see any reason to start a new website. What would be different about it? Would it help you find coupons for carbon credits?
