Do you bet on sports? What are your opinions on that?

It is a form of gambling. I think we should oppose that.

It is a form of gambling. I think we should oppose that.

Why? It can be a bit fun, and an easy way to win money, though most times is money lost.I have bet few times, though nothing too much, i need my money, i dont have the freedom to spent them whenever i want.

"Leftists" oppose so many things, that we would live in a cave... Its nothing huge, 5 euros, or 10 a month wont destroy you. Some people like betting, and the thrill of winning/loosing i dont see why again return to banning everything, a common practice of many so called leftists. We dont want a damn boring world.
Anw, we are out of topic actually, im sure bandito wont appreciate it, i dont want troubles from bandito:lol:;)

The effect is not very recognizable with 5 or 10 euros a month. But still, it remains something that you don't work for.

Both of you are actually on topic, and that principle is the reason why I started this thread. Lotteries are a bourgeois invention that keeps working class people who are a liability for gambling in debt slavery, and that also includes sports betting. Gambling is a social disease that ruins lives of people who are gambling and also their families' lives. Sports betting seems as the most moderate form of gambling, because the sports betters are usually the category that is in minority in the notorious gambles community. Also, lots people bet on football because it's fun and makes a way of living, fooling themselves that they are football experts if their team wins, but, it's their right to choose a way of living. Most of them are "weekend gamblers" who place bets once or twice a month, usually very small amounts, don't win very often, and play it simply for fun. I myself am in that category. So I recon it's worth a discussion.

Gambling is stupid, but I do a tad bit of sports betting for basketball for fun (league lasts for a few months though). I've been considering doing MMA betting once or twice in the future because I'm in a league for fun now (we just accumulate or lose points based on our predictions) and I'm doing pretty well, but meh. I'm not big on gambling, and lotteries are completely idiotic to me. I don't like spending money and I dislike losing money even more.

I don't see anything wrong with throwing in like 4$ and making 30 because you know about the stats of the teams playing.

I've tired it before. I lost some money. It wasn't a lot, but I didn't really want to do it again. Fucking premier league.

I've never understood the puritanical attitudes of certain people on the left towards things like betting. Banning gambling is as futile as banning marijuana or alcohol because legislating morality doesn't work. Look at it this way, during the Cold War, vodka sales in the Soviet Union alone were enough to finance the entirety of the Soviet space program. Besides, if you think that people didn't wager on the outcome of the upcoming weekend's Partizan Belgrade v Red Star Belgrade match in Marshall Tito's Yugoslavia, then you're probably out of your tree.

like anything outlawed, gambling becomes controlled by organized crime which leads to much worse things than losing 30$ as well
