Hey revleft! I'm a 21 year old in Media, PA, close to Philadelphia.
I've been lurking for the past few months and I'm ready to try and contribute to discussions and to make a stronger effort to learn. It's a very enlightening place here!
In the past four years or so I've gone from a reactionary paleo-libertarian sucked in by NWO conspiracy theories (of the utterly incoherent Freemason variety) to a left-communist. My political compass is:
Economic Left/Right: -8.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.21
Media claims alongside their motto "Everybody's Home Town!" that they're "America's First Fair Trade Town." I guess Fair Trade's intentions are in good faith but it's a symptomatic and ultimately ineffective effort to ameliorate the inherent violence of capitalism.
So yeah, the leftist scene here seems to have an abundance of uninformed bohemian liberal types but I'm starting to make a much stronger effort to connect with radicals and there does seem to be a pretty thriving leftist community in the urban communities close by.
