How many packs do you smoke a day? (if you even smoke a pack a day)
But if smoking less doesn't work for you, then I would try the patches, they worked well for my parents when they quit about 10 years ago.

Bilan
4th April 2010, 03:26
Occasionally, one a day. But it's usually about two thirds of a pack a day.

I considered them, but after having a word to my girlfriends parents, they suggested the gum as it worked for them. So I'm giving that a whirl for now. :)
I should point out it tastes like death.

Well good luck with that. Also, before you quit I would highly recommend you try Perique tobacco (if you haven't already). American Spirts makes a blend using Perique, best smokes I've ever had. (much better than that Pall Mall crap)

That would make sense. As,if I remember my wiki correctly, Perique is only produced in one Parish in Louisiana.

Anyways, social smoking is the best option imo. (well, besides not smoking, but where's the fun in that?) I smoke socially and it takes me a good few weeks to use up a pack... if I smoke like a chimney. Usually it takes me a month or two.

Bilan
5th April 2010, 14:16
Yeah, I think if I'm realistic about it, social smoking (on occasion) will happen from time to time for quite some time.
That's not a big problem, so long as I stop myself from getting back onto them regularly.

But what distinguishes revolutionaries from those thousands upon millions of workers who form the revolution’s spontaneous vanguard? They are not separate or exterior to it, but rather distinguished by their greater combativity and determination and by the .permanence of’ their activity. Revolutionaries are indeed a part of their class, but not just any part. For even if the party only accelerates an existing movement, there are crucial moments where this acceleration is decisive in determining the course of historical events. However, the spontaneous appearance of a workers’ vanguard during the struggle has all the more weight and significance when it has been prepared over a long period by the political work of’ revolutionaries. A political work which makes it possible to maintain continuity in the struggle, and to forge weapons for the future.

Luxemburg emphasised concerning the strikes of 1905 in Russia:

“But at the same time, thanks to the intense propaganda carried out by the Social Democracy, and to its political leadership, the period of economic battles in the spring and’ summer of 1905 allowed the proletariat in the towns to draw the lessons, after the event, of the January prologue, and to become aware of the future tasks of the revolution,” (our emphasis)

In contrast to the innumerable combative workers who take the lead in the struggles, but in general disappear once the strike or the struggle is finished, revolutionaries remain permanently organised and base their existence not on sociological criteria or particular circumstances, but on political criteria. The political programme they defend enables them to put forward the historic interests of the proletariat within its struggles, and to be at once the stubborn defenders of the daily resist ance against capitalist exploitation, and the most intransigent upholders of the movement’s final aims. They see their intervention as a continuous and long-term activity.

Thus it is neither the ‘physical contact’ with the workers, nor an all-out activism, which makes the party a living part of the proletariat and guarantees the authenticity of the links between the revolutionaries and their class. It is the revolutionary organisation’s ability to take up the political positions defined by the proletarian struggle. This is why the revolutionaries are not just any fraction of the class, but the most combative and resolute organised vanguard.

“The Communists, therefore, are on the one hand, practically, the most advanced and resolute section of the working-class parties of every country, that section which pushes forward all others; on the other hand, theoretically, they have over the’ great mass of the proletariat the advantage of clearly understanding the line of march, the conditions, and the ultimate general results of the proletarian movement. (…) The Communists fight for the attainment of the immediate aims, for the enforcement of the momentary interests of the working class, but in the movement of the present, they also represent and take care of the future of that movement.” (Marx, Communist Manifesto)

he incident began around 4:30 a.m. when a California Highway Patrol officer contacted a 60-year-old man in a “No Parking” zone on Highway 89 near Luther Pass, according to a CHP report. The officer arrested the man after allegedly finding what was believed to be methamphetamine. During a subsequent search, officers found “a suspicious wire, with an on/off switch” in the man's front left pocket leading to his anal cavity, according to the report. Officers planned to have the device removed by medical personnel at Barton Memorial Hospital, but during an interview with the man at the CHP office, “the subject began to explain his knowledge of explosives and bomb-making,” according to the report.
The man's statements caused officers to become suspicious. They contacted the El Dorado County Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team and evacuated the office around 5:45 a.m. About 9 a.m., “the EOD team rendered the device safe and determined it was not an explosive device. The vibrator was subsequently removed and placed into property."

Nah, I think mine will do alright. Yours sounds awfully boring to be honest. But mine probably would be boring to a non-English major too. I doubt many people would be excited about the differences in portrayal of Rinaldi, which coincidentally, takes up about a page of my paper.

I never really understood the appeal to 'neoliberalism,' not in the sense that I don't think it exists, but I'm not sure what it really means to point it out all the time.

I've seen so many reading lists for courses that throw in David Harvey books even though they may only tangentially relate to the course material, and I seriously doubt they're are getting much out of reading him.

Out of laziness and masochism I'm currently eating a weight watchers ready meal. It proports to be a chicken caserole with parmentier potatoes. It is in fact a depressing mess. The majority of it looks at tastes like the flavouring paste for making chicken flavoured crisps, the few pieces of chicken provided in this sample (I refuse to dignify it with the term 'portion' because that implies that it is meal enough for an entire person) seem to be constructed mainly from some kind of rubbery fibre rather than the tender chicken breast promised. The potatoes are slightly more inspiring as they do bear resembelence to my past experience with actual potatoes, unforyunately they are damp limp and lifeless. If I were the kind of poor fat bastard that had been pushed into weight watchers and was expected to eat this crap every day I would be sneaking off for pie with chips & gravy within the week.

When you're unsure about whether to use a singular or plural you generally put whatever modifier in parenthesis or next to a slash, like this:

"Wanker(s)" or "Octopus/ii"

Now what if you need to indicate possesion but are still unsure of numbers how do you arrange it? The least clumsly looking way of doing it seems to be this:

"Wanker's(s')"

Today was a good day. Sunny, warm, worked 5 hours, things with the girl are finally starting to go right. Haven't had weed in a few days...kinda want some cause my back is sore. But oh well.

I just cut my long ass hair
this is why you use hyphens - to avoid ambiguity.

this statement could be: "I just cut my long-ass hair" or I just cut my long ass-hair"

just sayin.
