I just spent 19 long pages arguing in favor of the idea of Marxist revolution against a group of left-liberals! Then I got banned from the thread!

But man, even though the thread was going really well, I'm frustrated as shit for getting banned for basically being the holder of an unpopular opinion. I've decided to vent here. (Apologies)

Check this out, these were the main arguments against me.

1. Revolutions are only justified against truly totalitarian regimes that run death camps and kill millions.

2. Violence solves nothing, and a revolution will only make things worse!

3. We don't need a revolution, we can solve our problems with voting!

4. The government is too strong! We can't ever hope to win!

5. I'm a gay man and I won't be killed in a Marxist work camp.

Number 5 was actually the one that ended up getting me banned from the thread. When that poster initially expressed his feelings that revolutionary governments are worse than the current US government, I stated that while there are problems, if you compare any of those governments to the regimes they overturned, they each brought some kind of improvement to people's lives.

He said that if the rights of gays weren't improved, he doesn't care at all. When I expressed my incredulity that gay rights was the only important issue, even when children starve to death in third world countries, I got booted.

1. The economic dictatorship which capitalism exerts over the lives of poor people is more totalitarian than any government repression against dissidents. Also, the "totalitarian" violence in "socialist" states has been generally directed against the socialists themselves.

2. A revolution is the only solution to the constant cycle of wars and bombings, and the coming imperialist war.

3. Then vote communist, lol.

4. Everything changes. Would George Washington have accomplished anything with that attitude? Every empire looked invincible at one point, and still looked invincible to some people right before it was about to fall. The French monarchy was the strongest in Europe in the Eighteenth Century, but a mob of people who couldn't afford to wear knee-breeches smashed it.

5. The 1917 revolution did improve gay rights, the Provisional Government ended the ban on sodomy in Russia and the RSFSR similarly respected people's right to have anal sex behind closed doors. Sodomy was banned again in 1936, but that signaled the end of the revolution, as Napoleon had done the same thing (the Napoleonic Code abolished gains made by gay people from 1791).

Cheers, Kleber. Btw, apologies for taking so long to get back to your last message.

What naive, defeatist hippie bullshit.

And last time I checked, sitting around hoping for peace didn't solve anything either.

You got banned, so I guess we can't see the discussion that you had. If you somehow can post it, I'd love to see it.
Liberals are irritating as hell.......

I wasn't banned, just told to stop posting in that thread "or else." I'll have to see if I can take screenshots or something.

I used to post there a lot, trying to argue politics there really turned me off from it though.
