Spliffs - the poor man's joint, or the wise man's smoke?
I tend to prefer spliffs. No major reasons, but here are a few:
1. They burn better. Weed on it's own just doesn't burn long term, so you're continually relighting. With a bit of tobacco sprinkled through, it'll burn much more consistently.
2: I like tobacco, and I smoke anyway
3: It gives a little bit more of a kick, I find.
Not going to justify it beyond that - reason #1 is definitely the most important.
I like my spliffs to be mostly weed, with maybe 20-25% max tobacco. Enough that you get plenty of bud with each toke, it burns well and it doesn't just taste and feel like a cigarette.

Smoking is bad mmmkay?
You need to wear an evening robe and swirl a glass of cognac in a Tudor-style library to make the effects of cancer-sticks negligible.

I'm not a fan of tobacco. For some reason it makes me extremely nauseous every time I smoke and I feel like throwing up. May be psychological since my smoker mother and my father drilled into my head that smoking is bad. That or I inherited something from my dad that makes me dislike it since my dad had the same issues with it that I have. Only time I can tolerate it is when I am drunk.
Never had issues smoking anything other than tobacco.

To me, a spliff is a joint. A spliff with no baccy is a blunt. I prefer with baccy to stretch it out longer, and because I'm a total lightweight

I always thought a blunt was rolled with cigar paper.
anyways, I also prefer it with tobacco for all the reasons mentioned. Also though: you can assure yourself that none of the good stuff gets wasted in the butt (without smoking your bus ticket) by making a tobacco "filter" on the end. :thumbup1:

In the Netherlands joints are spliffs. I prefer joints because I have a medical condition that makes nicotine especially bad for me. I do however tend to put something else in like green tea. I should buy some of that herbal tobacco.

The more weed you smoke is basically a correlation to how worthless you are as an organizer.

The more weed you smoke is basically a correlation to how worthless you are as an organizer. If you are smoking while trying to organize then that would probably not work too well just like if you were drunk all the time. However if you were trying to win the confidence of people you are organizing with by also socializing with them, then drinking and smoking is probably fine and could help you build relationships with people. And if we are talking about what people do in their own time, what does it matter?
The amount someone moralizes about personal behavior is correlated to how weak their grasp of Marxism and radical politics is.

I'm sick of this puritanical view towards how activists and advocates of revolution should behave. We are not fucking priests and when the revolution is done for I'm willing to bet mindless prohibition of this kind will be over.
Now back on the subject....
I'm used to smoking the greens by themselves...however I had hash spliffs in Europe (this seems to be the norm over there).
I think I prefer hash spliffs over regular joints...than again it depends on the weed and on the tobacco. Some weed don't have a particularly "good/smooth" taste so I bet mixing it with a certain preferred tobacco might off-set that.

a spliff is usually 50/50.
I use just a pinch of bacc in my joints.

I used to love spliffs before I quit smoking... it's like chocolate and peanut butter. I actually found it kind of difficult to get high the first few times I tried after I quit cigarettes. Quitting didn't do anything to my drinking though - other than causing me to have terrible cravings for cigarettes after a couple of drinks.

There can come a point where smoking too much weed makes you unmotivated and even depressed. It happened to me - I smoked most days for almost a year and I was in a bad place by the end of it, if nothing else I just felt slow and incompetent. But that's true of just about anything, if you overdo it it's bad for you. As JH pointed out, inviting a potential recruit or a new comrade to hang out with you and have a sesh and/or a drink is often a very good way of building a relationship there and ensuring they stay involved.

I like spliffs, because I usually end up having smoke after finishing a joint anyways, saves the extra hassle....of pulling my lighter out of my pocket a second time...I'm a lazy bastard.

For the vote: joint over spliff -- my own personal blend, preferrably (yes, I grow my own legally, under Michigan's medicinal marijuana law).
I always thought a blunt was rolled with cigar paper.
Same here. That's always been my understanding.

I started smoking regularly when I was diagnosed with cancer in 2001. My oncologist recommended it to me for nausea.

Shit, we did blunts at work (advantages of a midnight shift and no supervisors), and I did joints at home. But, of course, blunts at parties.

I'll admit, I have an issue with comrades being high while doing work for the organization. But beyond that, it's not my concern, any more than drinking alcohol is.

There's always a cop in our area of the block, because there's so much robberies right there. So we don't have a choice.
Me, my manager, and the rest of the night shift smoked a couple blunts in the freezer once though.

You're wasting it without.
General UK terms-
Joint/Spliff= tobacco and weed
Blunt= pure weed
Cigar papers aren't widely used really.
Kingsize Rizla + plenty of baccy + plenty of weed + bong = <3
