Anyways, I think leftists (Marxists in particular) are quite critical thinkers, and very cynical... with good reason. If there's so much wrong about the global economic system, and so much pervasive bullshit, you've got to be critical and judgmental to see through it and fight it.

I remember when my sisters and I said that nazis deserved to get their ass kicked and/or killed (well I argued this last point...) and my mom used that PC line. Yet she's not tolerant in regards to LGBT rights (although not exactly the same since I'm arguing of maiming a bunch of Nazis but in reality she couldn't claim that she was the "most tolerant.")

The internet in general is full of haters, I don't see how anyone can single out RevLeft for this. In fact, our political outlook probably means that we have more perspective than people in general about making judgments about many cultural things. We know there are more important things for progressing society than weather such and such band is posers or sell-outs.

I was one of the people who said that "South Park" was right wing - libertarian specifically. It doesn't mean that I think people are fools or right-wingers for watching and enjoying it - it can be really funny sometimes, but its still right-wing objectively and I think the creators have even said as much. I love "Twin Peaks" and "Mollholand Drive" but David Lynch is a Republican and his conservative ideas about good and evil and so on come through in his films - but his movies are still entertaining and interesting and unexpected.

Leftists need to be judgmental. If you're not willing to question everything that's put before you then you are not a leftist and certainly not a Marxist. The only way to get to a point of near infallibility - although I'm not sure anything is every truly infallible - is constantly question everything that you think or read, so that you can then gradually refute your own arguments and thoughts till they're almost bulletproof, at least that's my two cents. Marx, Engels and Luxemburg had this kind of mindset; basically, never take things at face value.
