Hi everyone, nice to be on board. I'm from Iceland, which was, as some might know, royally screwed over recently by ultra-greedy bankers and businessmen let loose by the nepotist government at the time (although it claimed to be neoliberal, it was really more of a nepotist/oligarch thing that we're still trying to get rid of). Currently we have a two-party coalition government of socialdemocrats and greens which seems to be doing what it can to create a more just society, but in a sometimes bizzare way and it sure seems to take time.
I don't belong to any particular communist or anarchist tendency but if hard pressed I'd perhaps say libertarian socialist. I'm interested in knowing more about some recent ideas and approaches such as those suggested by David Schweickart, Takis Fotopoulos, Michael Albert and Robin Hahnel.
Looking forward to having many good discussions with you all.
