Is it better than nothing?
Should leftists oppose extending coverage to millions of working-class Americans on the grounds that this proposed measure involves furthering the privatization of state assistence and is foremost in the interest of private insurance companies?

Or are you all too revolutionary to care about the specific actions of the evil imperialist American congress?

Why does your post sound so accusatory, when if you had looked a few thread lower you would have seen the ongoing discussion?

The health care proposal is not a single health care payer system, so its pretty much rubbish. The only thing even worth an iota of support is the public option or how its called now the "health exchange" option. It's going to be a competitor to the private health insurance industries and is supposed to control costs among the big wigs. I doubt it though. Regulating the health insurance companies won't do much as they'll find other ways of maximizing profits.
