I really enjoyed this movie when I first watched it.

However, I am often skeptical of big budget movies that depict the struggle (esp. armed struggle). Now when I say big budget, I mean in terms of what you and I have at our disposal. This movie's budget obviously cannot compare to something like Avatar or whatever, but compared to what the average person is able to afford without a major bank loan, I'd say the budget is big.

The point is, and I'm not sure how relevant this is, but I think the main reason I am skeptical is due to something called repressive desublimation. What that means is basically, rather than sublimating our latent or overt desire to actively participate in the struggle (armed or otherwise) we turn to movies like this to satisfy that desire. It ultimately makes us pacified and complacent.

But I really dig this movie. Thumbs up.:thumbup1:
