Sell out the revolution.
No honestly it's hard to say. I'd sure as hell keep a bunch to be able to securely afford rent money, college tuition and groceries. I'd hope my comrades would be able to understand that. Some more would go to helping out friends and family with their situations. And then I'd probably put aside a lot more for some kind of community thing, build a playground or something.
That's what I say right now. Money in hand, who knows?

- Pay Uncle Sam his share of the wealth so I don't lose it all.
- Put $1,500,000 in secured savings like CDs.
- Put $500,000 in less secured savings, but diversified.
- Purchase a house by forgoing a mortgage.
- Pursue whatever job I want.
- Open a school.
- Open a charity.
- Donate about 20% to charities I find tolerable.
In that order.

30 cigars a day for two years, plus booze. After that, if I am free of cancer, probably do some of the more sensible stuff people have suggested (get a house) although I probably won't be able to afford to live off the interest after my two years of decadence.
EDIT: Oh ten million, I thought it was just the one. Yeah I'd basically live in a flat surounded by fine whisky living off the savings for the rest of my (probably considerably forshortened) life. Also, my bed would be made of drugs.

Silly answer: Become a cyborg.
Altruistic answer: Open up a socialist education center where groups can host meetings, community services would be offered (similar to stuff the BPP did), people could learn about socialism, have a radio station, magazine/newsletter publication, maybe even a tv program... but that might be more than $10 million. I have no idea how much these things cost.
More realistic answer: I'd buy a nice condo or smaller house for myself w/ a nice media system, a decent car, a motorcycle, a couple of bicycles, and assorted nice things for family and friends.
I'd probably save about $3-$4 million and donate the rest

Ideally, I would pay off all of my debts, those of my family and my friends, give them some money, finish my studies and hopefully get a job in what I love to do. Start an anarchist newspaper or something and give the rest to some charity. Living as a rich guy in some mansion, wearing expensive clothing and driving Ferraris is not really a dream of mine.

That would depend on the prevailing interest rate on high-interest savings accounts or locked savings. I know for sure that $1 million isn't enough these days. Maybe $3 or $4 million?

For want of a better term we will call these the class conscious proletarians. Those who don't want to be exploited by others. I would join these. If I had ten million pounds there is no way on earth I would ever work again.

IDK...sometimes I think those who say that once they're rich they will give all their money away to whatever are crazier that those who want to finish a college education.
If I had a lot money I'll probably not bother much with politics and I doubt I'll donate, especially not all of it. Even if I gave NEFAC 11 million dollars I still doubt that would do anything to speed up the time it takes for revolution to hit NE North America. Plus, people donate to Africa millions all the time and that never seems to really end poverty at all (maybe I'm just a cynical fuck)

For want of a better term we will call these the class conscious proletarians. Those who don't want to be exploited by others. Most people like to 'work.' It's just the circumstances surrounding their daily activities that suck. Capitalists are strapped with enough money to live off of the interest on their M2 savings, but virtually none of them keep entirely idle. People are drawn to the fields of programming, education, research, dance, and even entrepreneurship for more reasons than just money.

We live in totally different universes. Most people I know hate their jobs. This is quite possibly because most people I know don't work in 'the fields of programming, education, research, dance, and even entrepreneurship', and I don't think that this is specific to me. I know some people, mostly in education, who only dislike their jobs rather than hate them.

It is not 'a bit workerist' at all. Universities are about a selection, not education process. If you had $10 million you could learn anything that you wanted to, and obtaining a degree wouldn't matter at all.

The thing about people not liking work got me thinking about all the appeals to "hard-working people" that politicians often make to justify all kinds of anti-social measures. That kind of rhetoric actually seems to draw in the petty-bourgeoisie more than anything. It's easy to support the idea of "working hard" and being happy about it when you can just choose what kind of work you want to do, or to start a business, or whatever.

Well, it would not be "working", but "starting a small business".
Anyway, with that kind of money, not only would it be recommendable to avoid the most unpleasant kinds of jobs (i.e. the ones that the vast majority of people are condemned to), but also the occupations that seem all right to you, or going into business. Just about every other way of life would be preferable, and with $10M, "sitting on your ass all day" would be the last way to spend your time without work.
I also don't get people who say that they would give half the money to charities or even to socialist organisations. Charities: why??? Since when do socialists go for "alms to the poor"? It's not very compatible, and conservatives know it (http://www.veritasrex.com/veritas_rex/2009/03/charity-v-socialism.html) as well. Honourable, but not practical. How would you be able to distribute this to every person on your own? How would you stop greedy recipients coming back for more?

I remember a friend told me that if he had a bigass trustfund he would study mathematics in Medellin. Medellin is not particularly known for math, but it is known for its cheap and high quality cocaine. I thought it was kindof funny, but what he meant is that it would be cool to walk to college classes without having to stress out about grades and instead just go there whenever you feel and still have time and the resources to engage in other things (in his case coke). He is a chemical engineer but he likes more math.
The point is that college can be a very interesting experience. Its a very different place and people discuss very interesting things that you won't discuss in other contexts. Obviously you have to have an interest in academicky things, which I do not know if you have. But some people do.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Some people love their jobs and love to work who knows what I'd want to do.
Yes, as I said before, I have met one of them in my life.

The most clever man all over the World Grigorii Perelman refused the premium $1000000. He said: "I have everything what I need". (He has a small flat, a table, a chair and masses of cockroaches.)

It is the title of the article about him I gave a link. He is russian scientist, mathematician who has found the decision of the mathematic task which was not be solved during 100 years by the best mathematicians of the world.
This premium was awarded by the American Clay Mathematics Institute for the decision of hypothesis Poincare above which the whole century mathematics of all world fought. Doctor Perel'man has placed the decision of a hypothesis in the Internet.

If your fortune outlives you how would you divide it in your will?
Unless you plan on sustaining hereditary wealth.
Boy, you sure like to plan ahead, don't you. Yeah I might divide my wealth among my (most likely adopted) children and loved ones.
I don't want them to have to be exploited or exploit others. Living on bank interests, while not completely ethnical (as I'm against banking practices), is the best thing I can think of.

Not really. I'm more a sort of 'what if a bus hits you tomorrow' sort of cynic.

Oh, that's comforting. Because, you know what? You won't be getting a penny from my imaginary 10 million dollars.

I guess its a coloquial turn of phrase that didn't connect.
