I would like to make a pamphlet that I can carry a few around with me and hand out whenever I'm talking to someone or a group who doesn't know what anarchism truly is. It needs to be simple, easy-to-understand, informative, and most importantly able to keep one's attention.

Ideas??
Or is there another one already made that I could just make copies of?

Try Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Anarchism But Were Afraid To Ask (http://www.radical.org.uk/anarchism/), published by The Anarchist Media Group in Cardiff. Found it a few years ago, and if I recall correctly, it was pretty good. Either way, theres probably quite alot of these kinds of pamphlets.

For a basic introduction, could try this (http://afed.org.uk/ace/aswecit.html). (PDF is here (http://afed.org.uk/ace/awsi.pdf)). Could also try turning these basic factsheets (http://libcom.org/thought/factsheets) into leaflets.

^^ All those seem kind of long - Code, what was the length you were envisioning?

A medium-short, interesting, factual one sheet leaflet explaining how anarchism is not evil or chaos and what it really is. Maybe how it can help the average person. Aimed to the younger (17-30 age range) middle or medium-lower class.

Most importantly I'd like it to relate instead of just throwing facts and opinions in their face.

Friendly, not militant.

Thnx all

I'll look at those links tonight

Include what IS and ISN'T anarchism.

IS:
Anarcho-Syndicalism
Anarcho-Communism
Social Anarchy

ISN'T:
Anarcho-Capitalism
Free Market Anarchism

That sort of thing

That sounds very big worded
I'm thinking it needs to be in terms that people who think anarchism is chaos could understand.

I think is better to only use them as a example and rewrite it in your own words, for you'll be capable of explaing it a little more.
But is just a suggestion of course.

this would be cool. Take my opionion for what its worth, because im not an anarchist(anymore). I would suggest that you stay with one form of anarchism or another. dont combine sydicalism with anarcho-communism. I would just stick with anarcho-communism, becase Rocker wrote a good few pamphlets on sydicalism.

I would like to see a good pamphlet on anarcho-communism, but im afraid it would be very hard is modernise it because i think that theory can only hold a grain of appeal in underdeveloped countrys(pre-revolution russia, todays pakistan)

My suggestion is to write it like kropokin wrote. he used lots of great current (for his time)examples to lay out his ideas.

again, im not trying to be a jerk. i have respect for anarcho-communist, even though i disagree with it.

communisticaly,
mike.

I think the above idea is a good one, rewrite in your own words. I might do this too, in my own words of course, because anyone who doesn't know what anarchism is, really should. I get strange looks and violent reactions from anyone other than close friends and people who share similar outlooks.

Hmmm.... One sheet might be tough. Here are some:

But honestly, a picture is worth a...

None of them really capture what it is the movement is about. But if it's something that fits in a small space you're thinking of, they are some starts.

One really good one was the "ARE YOU AN ANARCHIST?" Pamphet that you can find (somewhere) on Zabalaza.net

It's a bit text-heavy, but did a good job of explaining what anarchism's about.

Zabalaza's actually good for pamphlets in general.
