I have this old Maoist hat that my mother bought me when i was 12 and i've been wearing alot since then, and i still wear it, its my favourite hat.
but it appears that it is very dirty 5 years without it being washed not a single time. it is also very worn, the shadow once was about to fall off in the corner but i sewed it again. the inside is the most torn, the little label behind the plastic folder in the middle, where there is written and drawn something in Chinese, is totally water damaged by sweat, and rain(coming in from the other side) the hat is also ruined from sun damage, it is not dark green anymore but a very bright green on the top, it has a few stains from chocolate and a few other things. the red leather strap around the head inside is peeled and cotton lining is the only left some places the white lining is dark gray from sweat, dirt, and car pollution. behind the lining there is this thick soft carton/paper strap, which also has taken its damage from water and sweat, now it is very soft and crackled and cracked.

but it has no red star, and it is obviously that mine is older maybe from the 70's and hand sewed, the very asymmetrical sewing indicates that.
How can i wash my hat?:confused:
