I have it but the game gets boring after a while.
China's Qin Shihuang has some good traits, but not Mao, unfortunately. Others, I can't remember.
My fav. unit is of course, the knights.

i play civilisation 2, does that cuont? i normally play the romans, with custom names.
instead of president in democracy, i have "first citizen". instead of mr or mrs, i just have m. for anarchy. first comrade for communism too.
when you start playing, i tend to suggest going for philosophy and writing. that way you can get the free tech, and the great library. i also think that the pyramids are worth it too. talk about saving money on building granaries.
the workshop (which gives free upgrades for units) is virtually essential to win quickly, so i try and get invention fast as well.
marines are pretty good units (for the sea to land attack), and i like howitzers as well (ignore city walls, good armor, and two times fast).
i dont think you can play civ 2 online. and that befriend civilisation stuff isnt relevant

Same thing Happened to Me,
What you do is Uninstall the Game and put all those good saved things on a USB drive.
Then delete the entire Civilization Folder.
Then Install it.

2: What Leaders/Civilizations do you usually pick?
De Gaul/France or Stalin/Russia (They have characteristics which work well for me, what can I say?)

Free religion boosts science
I can't remember what the other civic you choose is
4: What Victory do you go For?
Conquest
5: What are your Top 3 Technologies?
Communism (state property) Chivalry (knights kick the shit out of the pre-middle ages civilizations) and a religion to make some cash off of
6: What are your Top 3 Military Units?
Modern Armor, Knights, and the first bombers you get

Yeah you can, it's the multiplayer gold edition. Can be pretty fun actually, you can do simultaneous turns with many players. people made lots of scenarios (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=79) for it. there are more at the older list here (http://www.civfanatics.com/book/export/html/395)

I bought the game yesterday because of this thread. Cost me 50 bucks, it's my first non-pirated game in 3 years.
I hope your service to the Bourgeoisie brings you satisfaction. :cursing:

The Civ 1 had a multiplayer expansion - Civnet
I dedicated a large chunk of my childhood to that game trying to beat my brother on hotseat...

I have it as well, playing it now actually, more than i did when it came out. My favorite civ-Russia, leader-Lenin(mod),civics-Emancipation/Free Religion/Free Speech/State Property, Victory-Domination/Conquest, Techs-Communism/Rocketry,military-icbm/tactical nuke/submarine, Favorite victim-America,Favorite ally-England.
Unfortunately I cannot seem to find a free trainer for v 3.19, which is frustrating because then I can't really use the mods to their fullest. Can't wait for Civ 5 in the fall...and they better not push the date back or release it with half the content only to have you buy it from them later for more money... bourgeoisie pigs.
