Some call prostitution the oldest profession while others call it immoral. Marx considered it a single expression of the many abuses against the worker and socialists attempt to eliminate it by drafting prostitutes into the work force. As long as money trades hands there's a potential for prostitution. However any individual feels about the matter, there's one market that's undeniably unethical and must be stopped; human trafficking in the form of kidnap, rape, and confinement. This market operates on scales from isolated instances of perversity and tragedy, to open source networks of pimps and handlers, to violent hotel owners and organized criminals. They use methods such as threats, drug addiction, unending debt-schemes, and the seizure of passports to trade in children and people that society has forgotten.
Socialists empower labourers through organization and unionisation. Human trafficking is our problem so how do we stop it?
