Hey there RevLeft!

Glad to be joining all of ya'll on this site for discussion and learning and whatnot.

To introduce myself, I'm a high-schooler who believes that he is past the teenage rebellion point of calling himself a commie. Although I don't know too terribly much as of yet, I've been learning over the past 3 years.
Ironically enough, I was introduced to my brother when he got a copy of Guerrilla Warfare by Ernesto Guevara and by his non-stop listening to Rage Against the Machine at the same time (too bad he's now studying finance :p).
The activity where I'm at is non-existent. I only know one other commie and have been able to get one of my friends at least interested in learning. But thanks to the internet I've been in contact with other comrades who have been helping me learn over the last couple years.

As for my ideology, I still haven't been able to pinpoint where I am exactly, although from most of what I've thought and read I believe myself to be near Trotskyism, but haven't truly limited myself from other beliefs. I guess this is because I've been more interested in learning the flaws of the otherside and haven't been focusing on the flaws of the insides of communism, which, from reading around on here I've been able to learn a lot from the way people debate.

I've been reading a lot of the threads on here and have gotten to the point where I thought I needed to join ya'll and thank you all for your post over however far back I've read and more. So, thank you and I hope to be able to contribute to some new comrade's learning in the future. :)

Hey welcome ! Look forward to talkin with you

btw I think the whole idea of "teenage rebellion" as some kind of magical unavoidable thing that all teenagers go through just because theyre teenagers is a wrong idea. Teenagers only rebel because they realise how crap the system is, or they realise at least that something is not right, and they havent yet been beaten into submission ('growing up'). I hate the way people just accept 'teenage rebellion' as a fact on its own without considering why this rebellion occurs (and in a lot of societies it doesnt exist)

Hey there scarletghoul, nice to see a really quick reply.

Yeah, that does make sense, I guess I just have it so bashed into me by my parents and brother that I'm "supposed to grow out of this" that I felt like I had to mention it here for some reason. But then again they are the people who forced religion upon me and just about everything else I'm having to question as a teenager, now that I'm cognitive enough to question it all and believe my own conclusions with logic.

Also, it's nice to meet you. I look forward to even more discussion. :)

Ah, so you have an ageist, religious, conformist , capitalist-indoctrinated family? Now where have I heard this before...

Hell, I'm a semester away from graduation in freakin' college, and I STILL get shit from my parents from time to time about how I'm eventually gonna grow out of this commie phase once I actually go out into the "real world" and figure out "life" is... well, present-day life.

Thankfully, the harassment has slowed down a lot in the past year or so, in that my mom has pretty much accepted me as a commie and my dad kinda tolerates it lol.

Why does it sound like I came out as a homosexual.

It would sound like I wanted a sex change for me. My mum had a shitty childhood in the Soviet Union of old...

Hey, The Duck That Goes Quack. Yeah, I guess it is a typical "testimonial" haha.

Hello to you too, GPDP. Yeah, my mom keeps using the line that goes like, "well when you do grow up, what country are you going to move too? There aren't any communist ones so I guess you're stuck with the next best thing, the US" too which I usually cringe. Even though when I try and explain theory differences she seems to kinda agree, but I think she's just doing that to get me to shut up... typical mom behavior I guess haha

And Q, :p. That is all.

Haha just kidding. Thanks for being a help in learning theory while on the other site, man. (in case you didn't see the PM, it's me, Brettmb, from the cybernations alliance )
