I have just moved into the San Fransisco bay area and am hoping that comrades can help me with the following.

a) finding a job or some way of making money

b) finding opportunities for political organizing, etc.

c) anything else to enrich my experience here

PM me if needed.

thanks in advance

Well, comrade, in terms of political activity, almost every national-scale communist organization has a branch here, so take your pick! I've never worked with them, but the PSL seems especially active -- I've run across them multiple times in my day-to-day life.

You should check out Bound Together Books, near the intersection of Haight St. and Masonic Ave. It's a cool infoshop with lots of anarchist and libertarian communist literature, as well as info on upcoming local events. Also, you're just in time for the annual Bay Area Anarchist Bookfair (http://sfbookfair.wordpress.com/schedule/).

There's also a Socialist Action bookstore in the Mission and an RCP bookstore across the bay in Berkeley if that's your thing.

The thing is, growing up in Vermont I haven't had much exposure to national organizations; in fact the only party that I can think of is the Vermont Liberty Union Party, who I have nothing but good things to say about and they are semi-affiliated with the SP-USA, I think. As a result I don't really any idea which parties I would do well in. I think I will check out the ISO and PSL when I get a chance.

Thanks for the heads up about the book stores/infoshops and the upcoming book fair.

The main reason for me wanting to move out here was to organize with other comrades, the Vermont scene was pretty dead. Thanks for the starting points.

Also if people know a squat or backyard with room for a tent, lemme know.

Every SF leftist organization and their evil CIA-controlled twin sibling will have a tent / literature stand up at the Civic Center Plaza on March 20th (http://www.actionsf.org/#local4).

So I found an apartment and most likely a job, thanks to all for the tips.
