View Full Version : Topic suggestions for a history presentation ?

I thought I should post this in History, but reading the rules, it would seem that this place is more appropriate.
My history teacher asked me to build a presentation on a topic of choice for a "Scientific Communications Session" (that's the real title, but its really exaggerated; you don't need a PhD to participate - actually its aimed at high school students in their final years).
Because the XX century had little-to-no cover in all the history lessons I've had, I thought on focusing my activity around that century.

I was thinking of covering Cold War-Era Soviet technology like the Ekranoplan, but then again, I'd like to cover a real leftist subject in my presentation. Something that wasn't talked to death on mainstream channels.
Something that's both interesting and useful in aiding our goals; in enlightening the audience about capitalism and our class struggle.

What subject/event/operation/whatever would you recommend me to document myself and cover in my presentation ?
Also, please mention some trusted resources on the subject. I wouldn't want to misinform myself and the audience.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but as I said, technology was the 1st idea that sparked in my mind, so I'm not looking only in that field.
I'm thinking on going for something more revolutionary, like May '68 or early USSR and the role of the Soviets.
