A protest by ACT-UP (AIDS Coalition To Unleash Power) on Friday the 26th at noon against Gov Jindal of Louisiana's cuts to funding of life sustaining meds for HIV/AIDS patients. He will be starting off a tour of churches all over the state, raising money for his next election campaign for president.
There are so many people angry about his proposed cuts to HIV/AIDS prevention and services - not to mention mental health & substance abuse services - public health units - AIDS Drug Assistance Program - and several other services.... and people will be turning out large numbers to confront him on his claim of being a "compassionate conservative" and all about "family values"... There is nothing compassionate about his proposed budget cuts... and we are all part of families who value each others' lives... His policies - if enacted - will literally kill people.
His proposed cuts will mean long waiting lists for people with HIV/AIDS to even begin to access medical care - including life-sustaining antiretroviral medications... people on waiting lists DIE... pure and simple. In other words - if a person doesn't have good health insurance and/or a lot of money, his/her life is not worth as much to the governor...
We feel this will be very newsworthy. And the country needs to know that Jindal is willing to kill the citizens of Louisiana by his policies but on the other hand turn down stimulus money.
Did I mention along with the $35 plate lunch he will be autographing Bibles?? Yes he will.....
ACT-UP WILL NOT SIT BACK AND WATCH HIM MURDER INNOCENT PEOPLE. WE WILL ACT-UP, WE WILL FIGHT BACK!
