Ah yes, tax cuts. Surely, they benefited only the hard, working-class Americans the most

What does that Share of all Adjusted Gross Income mean? Is that the share of the national income?

It's okay though, the trickle down economic theory means that what benefits the rich, ultimately benefits us all.:lol:

There is a similar statistic in the UK, cannot remember the source, but the figure was that on average, those who earn £100,000 or more, pay just 25% of their income in tax, as opposed to the 40% they are supposed to pay.

Is the numbers for 2007, for example, 356 722 000 $ or 356 722 $?

Anyway it isn't the direct income where the wealthy make their lions share of wealth, but capital gains. The numbers for tax percentage for wealth increase would be more interesting.

Nevertheless it's always interesting to note that progressive income tax is a nice ideal that is bypassed in reality. Progressive tax is just for most of the middle earners.

It's the same here, and I would guess practically all over the world.

This thread (http://www.revleft.com/vb/norway-releases-income-t120459/index.html?t=120459&highlight=skattelister) somewhat touches the same theme.

What the bracket's are and what "resourceful" people pay are two different things. Here the top income tax bracket is 56% (or where a few years ago) and practically none which has sizable income pays it. It's mainly the ones with slightly above median income that pays it.
