In particular for Turkey and the other candidate members.

Obviously we will get answers about benefits/non-benefits for workers of joining the EU, but could you also say the benefits/non-benefits for the Capitalists please

Also, what effect will it have on other EU states for new members?

Meh this and spiegel state it well: http://www.europesworld.org/NewEnglish/Home/Article/tabid/191/ArticleType/ArticleView/ArticleID/21291/ArgumentsforandagainstTurkeyjoiningtheEU.aspx http://www.spiegel.de/international/0,1518,333126,00.html

Imperialism plays a pretty big part in the EU, migrants workers are so easily exploited over here (as I'm sure you know yup) but that happens in other countries too, cheap migrant labour is a big necessity for capitalists and always has been.

Why not? It's a pretty basic political position that you can argue very easily.

In my opinion, it is prudent to take this into account: http://rt.com/Politics/2010-02-10/roar-wise-men-eu.html

Despite the fact that ties have improved recently, NATO is described as one of the most serious threats in the new Russian military doctrine. The “wise men” should help draft a new NATO’s mission statement. The current one was written in 1999.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference on February 7, Albright recognized that “NATO was an alliance against the Soviet Union,” but stressed that now it is a new alliance and Russia should not fear its expansion.
...
Of course, NATO is not Russia’s enemy, and Moscow is cooperating with the alliance, the paper noted. “But biased tasks of the alliance do not conform to the principles of ensuring global security,” it said. “If they are not changed, then dividing lines and confrontation will emerge in such spheres as cyber and energy security, as well as fighting climate change.”

“In this regard, the visit of NATO’s Wise Men to Russia is very important,” the paper said. They may try “to combine incompatible things – to make closer Russia’s and NATO’s approaches in the sphere of European security,” it said.

As true as it is that Imperialism is the basis for it, maybe he doesn't wanna sound like a typical rebellious teenage prick infront of his classmates.

You can mention problems between the members of NATO. Many of them are wondering whether it is even necessary anymore, seeing as it is seemingly following the whims of the United States, and for the governments in Europe, they feel that the EU would already serve as a suffice mutual defense pact.

I'm quite pro-EU.
For us it will help to expand the mind set of internationalism, help to create more freedom of movement - amongst other freedoms - and it should help increase unity amongst different peoples. The more the governments of Europe give power to the EU the better as it will provide a good, more united group of revoultionaries to help tackle a hopefully more liberal government.
For the capitalists it will mean that they can spread their capitalism across a much larger area and hopefully achieve a greater monopoly and a more stable economy.
The major problem with the EU is how the rising far right in Europe have managed to infest it and are manipulating for their goals.
