- Where are you from, whats the leftist scene there like?
I'm from west Michigan. I live in one of the most conservative counties in the state; the leftist scene here is practically non-existent. Of course, we have the standard armchair liberals just like anywhere else, but so far I've only met one other radical.

- What branch of leftism do you subscribe to?
Anarcho-communism

- How did you become a leftist?
When I was around seven or eight years old, I started having intense debates with my parents regarding the existence of Santa Claus. This skepticism apparently stayed with me. I started feeling more and more uncomfortable with my religion, eventually avoiding thinking about it altogether. Then, when I was fifteen, I realized that it was okay to question religion and I immediately declared myself an atheist. I started debating religious people and many of these debates quickly digressed to the subject of politics. So I started studying politics as well, and before I knew it, I was an anarchist.

Sorry for sharing my life story :p

Heh. Good username. Good politics as well. Solidarity and Defence (http://solidarityanddefense.blogspot.com/) are an anarcho-communist group based in Detroit, and I think there's some IWW presence in Michigan, but I dunno if there's anyone decent close to you. If you get in touch with S&D, I suppose they're likely to know more about A-C presence in the area than I am.
