They don't so much go into self interest as they do war but a Marxist critique of Caral should be in order.

I don't think that is too surprising in regard to claims of human nature. Many of the early communities on Earth practiced a form of primitive socialism. However, if we are to make a critique, we should be careful of applying the case of Caral to every civilization.
