It seems like right wingers are fed up with the forgiving Christ and want to advocate a more free market friendly Jesus that will be free of liberal taint.

According to these nuts, the story of forgiving the adultress is too liberal, the Bible is filled with high brow elitist words, and they want to eliminate anything that might make Jesus sound like a socialist.

Because you know how he Bible is following the Liberal agenda. Anyone else see the irony in this?

The only coherent facet of that is that the adulteress story is indeed inauthentic, as are various other parts of the Bible. But social conservatism and rejection of Biblical inerrancy/infallibility have never quite struck me as compatible.

"Let's increasing the reading difficulty, but reduce the wordiness so nothing can be elaborated upon and understood better."

So elitist. And they think this is supposed to benefit normal people?

I didn't even knew that the bible was of leftist figure, except for the Jesus myth. Story goes of his rebellious ways against the rich & for the poor, the robin hood of his time. But we must also remember the story he gave about the King & his followers, in which was a metaphorical story of himself & how he wants his followers to stay loyal or else. In it, the King tells his followers to go & fetch the betrayer that chose not to follow him & to kill him in front of his throne. Then we have women as slaves towards men. Technically, the Bible is of right-winged material with some left leanings.

Jesus hated capitalism.

The Bible is just a tool for these control-freak neocons. I hope they all go to hell (if such a place exists) :glare:

At best, the academic Bible of 24 books from Genesis to Chronicles promotes a "distributist" form of "socialism." However, there are some useful economic passages, even in the Jewish Torah itself, that can be used against heavy-handed propertarianism.

"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him!"

Jesus didn't have any capitalism to hate. He did hate insults, though. A lot.

"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him!"Yes, let's quote Nietzsche just for the hell of it, despite the point of that statement having nothing to do with the rest of your post? And was there even an exclamation mark there?

Conservapedia. God DAMN it.

As of 2009, there is no fully conservative translation of the Bible

Well no fucking shit. Like any book would have a "liberal" translation and a "conservative" translation. They've just got the regular boring literal translation.

slightly off topic. It reminds me of what Thomas Jefferson did to the bible.

Yeah, but he only removed the supernatural stuff, he left the rest unaltered. He wasn't trying to rework the entire theme.
