Interesting. I assumed most of the students were anti-chavez considering that higher education in Venezuela was largley an upper class privilege.

No the students demonstrating are pro chavez and are communists, marxists, trotskyists, socialists, etc. Most students in venezuela are pro chavez. The anti chavez students are spoilt rich bastards who cant even riot properly!!

i thought that too because of an earlier anti-chavez student demonstration.
Chavez and Morales seem to be two very contemporary socialists that should be followed closely. and because i just said that, while also having just watched Cocalero, i will dive into news articles and study up on the latin-american socialist movements.

Yeah, the anti-chavez demonstrations aren't as big as the pro-chavez demonstrations though. Chavez is doing pretty good in keeping the poor, peasants, & workers healthy & taken care of. Changes are taking place over there, great changes. It's an exciting time for Venezuela.

Chavez is such a dunce, we need to get him out of there quick.
Why is Chavez a dunce? He has mobilized the working class.

BTW, did you know that you can write an e-mail to the editors of the International/English version of "Correo del Orinoco"?....Which can be found here:
http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/correo-del-orinoco
There's also a larger article about those student demos.
We are still looking for writers and contributors to future issues, so feel free to submit articles, suggestions or letters to the editor. And we still need worldwide distribution, so please help if you can. Send to:

Obviously, if some students demonstrate, they do not automatically represent all students in the country.

Chavez is such a dunce, we need to get him out of there quick.
Even if he was a dunce, why would "we" need to get rid of him. And who are
"we"?

At what cost? He has turned that country into a joke.
Well that's a nice talking point. No substance though.

"We" might be the American military or any of our numerous alies.
We call that imperialism.

Do not quote me with this bullshit, if you have nothing to say dont say anything.
Exactly and you have nothing to say, so pack up and troll on out of here.
I like how you said, "we" need to get him out of there, as if it's "our" business to oust whom ever we want.

What makes me a troll?
Why are you acting dumb? You know what you said and you know what you're doing. You're trolling.

You're presenting a speculation of yours without any grounds to support it. You call Venezuela a joke, yet you show no reason why, nor do you give reason on why you think Chavez is a 'dunce'. Also, good luck in getting Chavez out of there. It was tried once, & the majority spoke & had risen up to get Chavez back. You may see Venezuela as a joke, but at least Chavez is true to his people, & vice versa, to such an extent that they'll fight for one another & die for one another. Something I've yet to see in the U.S.

what makes him a troll is that he actually calls for US(and allied) military intervention in Venezuela. i dont care if he criticizes Chavez, all leaders need a good criticizin'
...and also... Bob Dole...

I didn't say we should just rush in there and take over, but hypothetically the U.S would be the one to do it.
Also, bob dole was a good politician, no one could convince me otherwise. I voted for him when he ran and would do so if he ever did again.
Do you agree with his view that abortion should be illegal except in cases of rape, incest and/or if the life of the mother is in danger?
I do not. Abortion should be legal across the board. It's women's bodies and absolutely their decision.

Their people live on sandwiches, the balance of wealth there is ridiculous. People there live on $3 U.S everyday, if that doesn't tell you something I dont know what will.
My family is from Venezuela. Don't try to teach me bout it. ;)
