British Left Wikipedia Template

Okay, a British Left Template at Wikipedia has been started (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:British_left) which is a chronology of the left parties and their descendants, splits and successors. But when it's put into articles, it gives the error "Expansion depth limit exceeded". Can anyone help? Does it need to be cascading vertically rather than horizontally?

I'm not sure on the technical aspect, but have a note on the "SPEW (1964)". I think this is confusing as the Militant tendency, which was founded in 1964, was internally known as the RSL. SPEW is only a name that comes up long after Ted Grant's group splitted away in 1991 when Militant Labour changed its name into SPEW in 1997. So I think either 1991 (year of "open turn") or 1997 (year of the name SPEW) is more appropriate :)
