It seems to be a pretty common demand of leftist parties to call from universal armament of the working class for protecting itself, but wouldn't universal disarmament be a better demand? I mean, ultimately the realization of a classless society would rid the world of most of the violent crimes committed, and why keep around an industry that depends on the continued existence of crime and violence?

Why disarm the working class when our enemies are still armed? Even post revolution we still have to fight those that threaten our freedom.

universal armament is easier to achieve than dis-armament. anyway, while there exists a ruling class, they will not disarm, so why should we (the oppressed classes)?

in the far future, when utopia is a reality, we won't need guns, and disarmament will be the order of the day. but until then...
