Let's post some of the best vocals out there.
Well, "best" is a rather objective definition - so let's say "goose bumps screamers" instead
MY PICK: "She's gone" by Steelheart:
btw, singer is from my home country of Croatia - his real name is Miljenko Matijevic, but he went by a stage name "Mike". Steelheart was moderately successful internationally during the "hair days". So check it out, pretty cool vocal range.

Harry Conklin

This guy could sing just about anything, his other bands include Titan Force, who are far more mellow, and Satan's Host, who are not, and also feature him hitting high notes, screeching (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssAKOLlL3AY&feature=related) and god knows what else quite frequently. Unfortunately, he left SH, and after that they turned to black metal and became fairly mediocre. Though I believe he rejoined by now (after an age), so we'll see how that goes. He also tried his hand at quasi-hard rock lyrics with Riot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOGgozXJTBk), and was great at that, too. Indeed, he was far better than the vocalist that they actually used on the album (he was too busy with other bands to join them, so he was just playing with them for fun, pretty much).
J.D. Kimball
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dewGLBsXo88Well, yeah. He died in 2003, which is unfortunate, and Omen's newer vocalists can't really compare, though they're pretty good.
Glenn May
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SYiE4Gs64oAgain, he slays everything in his path. And with that, the (un)holy Trinity of USPM is completed.
Tony Martin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90mZThOY_8kThis guy is underrated, and very awesome.
Dio
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsPsNu0IwU8Well, it's Dio. Not only is he an awesome singer (and apparently immune to aging), but he also got Harry Conklin into metal singing (he was an award-winning solo classical singer earlier), and seems to have influenced May as well (the above song by Tyrant was probably a tribute to Dio-Sabbath's 'Lady Evil'). As can be seen from the above song, the guy was 'bloody good', as he would say, at conveying emotion and atmosphere.
John Cyriis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo0dGoNPUdAThis guy was more or less a perfect fit for Agent Steel's dark speed metal.

Journey is not a vocalist, its a band.
This is a thread about vocalists and Steve Perry was mentioned as one of them.
But it seems that you are well aware of the fact that he was once a singer for Journey.
Which (if we dwell deeper into human psychology ) also shows that you at one point were an active Journey listener.
Last, but not least - it seems as you have a strong urge to suck on something. Which explains why you mention the word 3 times.
So good luck in your quest :p

1. I know Journey is a band. Steve Perry is their singer.
2. I have never ever EVER liked Journey. EVER.
3. Just cause you like them doesnt mean that you have to awnser with some of the worst comebacks ive ever heard. You could just say something like "well thats your opinion".

After you said Dave Mustaines voice is good, I don't think your opinion on Steve Perry is worth anything:p
Wheel In The Sky is a good song. Besides that Journey is pretty meh.

They're fun to listen to, lots of solid musicians in the band. How do they "suck?"

They are good musicians, but their songs are just, well, crap. Dont stop believing (sic) has to be one of my least favorite songs ever written.

Awesome choice! Phil Anselmo got awful after he started doing drugs. Ill remember him for the Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power days. Although, Down is pretty good.

I pretty much agree. His rougher voice fit better with Down than Pantera. It was that down-home sludgy Southern metal that made it work.
