I'm going to be living here for the next little bit, and I was wondering what the political/radical scene was like here.

Austin

Whoa, Austin has like FIVE SHITLOADS of radical stuff going on. I wouldnt hesitate to say that it's the most politically modern town in the whole Southern US. A downside(maybe?) is that a lot of the stuff appears to be organised around the college/music/hipster scenes (as opposed to working-class-grassroots-type stuff), but if that's your bag then right on

I'm down in Houston at the moment, and when passing through Austin, there was a shit ton of political happenings going on. There was just a university takeover down there.
