I really must sound like an idiot but how on earth do you pronouce Bourgeoisie; it's kinda hard to have a political argument if can't pronounce what you're trying to say:confused:

boor shwa zee

(The middle sylable, "shwa," is pronounced a little harder than it normally would be in English: almost like "jwa.")

It's a French word... why would you want to translate it to German?

The German equivalent is "Bürger."


And I'm pretty sure it's "boor-jwa-zee" with only a soft "r"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a tinge of "h" after the soft "r" ? I mean the way the French pronunciation goes ?

And the middle part is "zhwa" rather than "shwa" or "jwa".

Yeah I guess it's more phonetic to type it as "zhwa"

boo + (sound like Hebrew Ch but with voice) + zhwa (with emphasis on the last syllable always)

anyone who doesn't know any french or how to read IPA has no business contributing.

The English version is just boor (bor or boor with book "oo") then zhwah

It worked for the german translation as well. I didn't check it on anything other, so I wasn't too sure.

Well, the boo-jwa is for Bourgeois, while the boo-jwa-zee is for Bourgeoisie.
