Yesterday, around a hundred fire-fighters chased around 300 officials for the ''United Dutch City's'' (an organisation which handles the payment and employment of city workers) out of their office building. They pretended it was a fire alarm, but when they started lighting flares and their being as much fire-fighters as there were, the officials soon discovered that it was a wildcat action.

Picture and a movie in dutch(great images) (http://nos.nl/artikel/135630-actie-brandweer-op-kantoor-vng.html)

The unions and the UDC were in struggle about the payment and pension funds for city workers. But this wildcat action happened besides the involvement of the unions.

The UDC said they don't consider the action valid because ''it was unannounced, the pretention of their being a fire, and the fact that they where unable to work for about an hour.''

This is ofcourse utter b*llsh*t, and I personally fully support this action and the way it was organised!

Awesome! What is it with firefighters lately? Also, don't suppose you can find any English-language sources? I'd love to know more about this.

Correction in my translation, I roughly translated the VNG (Vereniging Nederlandse Gemeenten) to UDC (United Dutch City's), but the correct translation is ''Association of Netherlands Municipalities(ANM)''.

I have tried searching for sources in english, but I haven't found any, the only international source I found was belgian and also in dutch. I tried searching for it before I posted this, would have saved time you know. ;)
