Those are female-fronted bands, though...I'm not a very big fan of riot grrrl type acts.

well, among my favorites there is Sweet Honey In The Rock, and if you're trying to have a music collection that is based on left politics, they're a must. They're acapella, and I don't know what that does for you, but I've been a fan since the 1980s.
