I'm just curious...I would really like to know what the basic rundown of all this is. I'm politically neutral, and I'm really genuinely just interested haha. Not here to "bash" any other governmental type. I'd just like to be more informed or whatever.

I'm in the exact same position as you but you might want to check the Beginners reading post. Lots of good stuff in there.

Communist Manifesto is a must read. Here's some other good reads.

The basic run down is that today, few people own the means to produce wealth (=products, goods and things necessary for a decent standard for life), the rest of the people work for ( = rent themselves so to survive) those few people and use the means of production to produce wealth.

All work and production is done by the rest of the people (= the working class), and the lion's share of production is claimed by the few ( = the capitalists, or the bourgeoisie).
A small percentage of that wealth is given to the workers as payment, with which they can purchase the things (that THEY produced with their work) they need to survive.

What we struggle for, is the unity of the working class to overthrow the bourgeoisie from their position of power, so that they (the working class) can claim the fruits of their labor.
It's a difficult struggle, as the bourgeoisie as backed up by the state's mechanisms to oppress the working class from rising up,and to divert it from it to menial tasks and brainwashing.
