What, exactly, is the deal with the "Reputation" meter? What does it do? What does it mean? How does one get "Reputation?"

Only our Dear Leader knows... ;)
What does it do?
Uhm, shows your reputation points?
What does it mean?
That depends on your reputation. Red is bad reputation, usually reserved for OP's, which mean bad and that people do not agree with you (for a lack of better explanation). For example, you write that capitalism is good and that it will last forever, or that Africa is poor because people are black, then someone will most likely give you a bad reputation point.
However, you will get a good reputation point if someone likes what you write and gives you one point. It could be a joke or something thoughtful, it depends.
How does one get "Reputation?"
Click the "Thanks!" button at the lower right of a posting, and you will get a point. To see your reputation, go to "User CP" and you can see the points and to what post they are assigned on. I'll give one for show. :thumbup1:

it's called the faq. funny thing, it answers many frequently asked questions, such as "what is reputation".
(the other way to give, apart frm usin thanks, and the only to deduct rep is to click the blue scales icon in the top right of a post)
you can give neg rep for any reason. if you're an asshole.
