I can't freaking figure out what Union I should talk to. My line of work is in the sound departments within a film studio. Recording, Mixing and design... surprisingly the studio doesn't know either what union it is.. hmm... Does anyone know if there's a list on line? I've google for over an hour and I can't seem to find anything.

There's the Cert Office in the UK, which all legal unions have to register with. I found the link off a goverment run advice site (Directgov). Maybe worth seeing is there's anything similar in the United States.

Stage-setters (whatever the profession is called) have a union. What I would do is to find the number for any local union, give them a call, ask them what labor unions they know of in the area that may fit your requirements.

A cursory search on google doesn't turn anything up for me. But, search your city/state +"union," and call whatever number you can find.
