I'm sorry, I haven't heard of him much either. All I know was that he was Mao's buddy and created a cool guerilla Red Army.
As an anarchist though...:p
And, just a note to people in general (not just you, sunfarstar), would you please post in smaller font? It is quite annoying when the OP is this huge blocked monster. :D

Zhu was great. His life story is inspirational, he was an awesome military leader and is a hero for the world revolution.
Is there anything in particular you wanted to know ?

He was a great commander. Zhu De, not Che Guevara, was the true Communist pioneer of guerrilla warfare. His tactics kept the CCP alive through one of the worst repressions in labor history, even after suicidal Comintern policies had almost ensured its destruction. From a military standpoint he was one of the best fighters of the Third International. I haven't read anything political written by him, but from what I know he totally supported Mao's decisions and Stalinist revisionism within the CCP.
I am interested to know, why was he struggled during the Cultural Revolution? I have heard he was called a "Black General" and a "Big Warlord," what did he do politically to deserve such criticism?

Zhu and Mao were known together in the early days as "Zhu Mao", or "Pig Hair".
