In the sixth of march, they would have that referendum on IceSave, and if nothing spectacular is happening the Icelanders are going to vote "no". That would certainly be interesting as it would put the Icelandic people against the governments and the financial institutions of the World Bank. Grimsson has also acted very brave for being a leader of a small and quite geographically isolated country.

I think it is important that we show solidarity with Iceland.

Yes, Im absolutly appauled by the British reaction to this. To think that G Brown placed Iceland on an international terrorist list, because they refused to pay british people back their lost money is porposterous. If it was the other way round, I somehow doubt Iceland would have got any compensation at all. They would of got laughed at more likely.

I'm sure there will be a few in the fishing industry here in Scotland and in Europe happy to see Iceland in economic trouble, aswel as the people that will make a mint out of this. It's sad when the mistakes of a few leads to pain of others. The people of Iceland will be stuck with this for years and the UK will spend the same amount each year on the army

This seems to have become an issue of prestige for the British government, while the Icelandic population never would accept IceSave. Thus, there is a contradiction which is unstoppable.

If they put the bankers on the terrorist list, it might make more sense, but if he wants to put all Icelanders on the list, it just shows he belongs on that list along with the bankers.

Of course, the only real way Icelanders would have been able to prevent their banking fiasco would have been to not have capitalism in the first place. But we all know capitalism is not something Brown dares to oppose, so he decides to take it out on Iceland in general instead.

They all preach this shit about making a better society than socialism or any other idea in the whole of history (in other words, we do not NEED socialism because western liberal democracy will deliever it all and even more:rolleyes:), yet when it comes under attack from its own contradictions, they have zero sympathy for someone/thing who is suffering from their direct actions. In other words - this is a complete perfect example of the consequence of capitalism. It proves that no matter what, there is zero morals or respect in todays society. OK, Iceland got seduced into playing monopoly. Who could really blame them when it was going well for them, why should they all be made to suffer really badly, when it was the british and americans who have literally invented the rules to this particular monopoly. Bullying is an understatement.
