I'm growing tired of all the threads on "is there a group in <insert city here>?", so I've made a little page: Red Earth (http://socialisten.net/RedEarth/). The point of the map is to encompass all branches of parties, local groups, demo's, meetings, happenings, etc.

However, I would go mad if I all had to do it myself, so I'm looking for people to help me expand the knowledgebase on the map and keep it up to date. I myself will be updating/expanding the Netherlands and also Belgium. If you want to help out, you can start right away!.

Also, this map is based primarily on public information available via the web (branch lists of respective organisations) and secondly on what members are sharing here. If you have more information, do share!

How do you add to the map?
1. Go to the map (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=109874619067413505954.00047e5d4cd5337597852&ll=48.69096,6.328125&spn=103.318208,316.054688&z=2).
2. Add the map to "My maps"
3. Select the map in "My maps".
4. You can now edit it.

I just add markers in the cities the particular group is active and give some comment to it (basic details, website, contact info, that kind of stuff).

How so? I could either invite other collaborators or allow it so everyone could edit the map. I asked several times for people to poke me so I can add them to the collaborators list, but so far no one wants to do it. And as I've no real interest in working on branches in the US myself, I'm going to open the map for the public.

It's blue by default, you can edit the color. I use red for socialist/communist organisations, blue for anarchists (there is no black) and green for environmentalists.

The whole point of the map is for people to look if there is a group in their area. "Mark them in Prague I guess" is really pretty useless in this regard.
