Precious and rare footage of executions performed by Nazis in the city of Pančevo, Serbia. They were filmed in color, and the German Wehrmacht photographer Gerhard Gronefeld kept it a secret for 67 years in his private archive. The video shows the last moments of arrested communists, antifascists, Jews, Romani and other people who were executed because of the killing of one German officer in the first months of occupation.
Pay special attention on the people's defiant faces and the ruthlessness of Nazis and collaborators. Especially colaborators.

Thanks comrade, though it is hard to watch thinking about my relatives in Yugoslavia who were killed by the collaborators. My great-aunt was a member of the Communist Party and a courier for the partisans during the occupation. She was despised by conservative-minded people in their rural village because she wore modern clothing and was open about her progressive ideas. One night a fascist youth who said he "hated communists" stabbed her to death and forced a teenage girl from the town to watch. They dumped her body on her mother's doorstep. Neither my great-grandmother nor the witness ever recovered. It didn't help that she had had a fear of knives since childhood. After the war the guy who did it was hanged by a people's court although he pleaded insanity and his own mother begged them to spare his life.

"On April 22 Gottfried Kessel filmed a funeral in Pancevo. Partisans had shot 2 SS men and killed 9 so-called "Volksdeutsche Danube Swabians".
The Wehrmacht's revenge was terrible. First 6 Serbian civilians were hanged for determent. They had been arrested by the occupying forces and sentenced to death as partisans. A "Volksdeutscher" executioner performed the gruesome deed. Subsequently, at the cemetary walls of Pancevo 12 former Serbian soldiers were shot. Gottfried Kessel also filmed this brutal deed for the war diary."

Does this remind anyone of the sort of "payback" Israel exacts upon Palestinians for attacking Israelis? Does anyone wonder if people back then were telling Jews or Partisans that they shouldn't fight the Nazis, because they are not communists and their actions only serve capital?

Absolutely. Turns out the Israelis became what they supposedly hate. The West Bank and Gaza are the equivilent of the ghettos which the Jews were forced into. Of course, I'm just stating the obvious.
