View Full Version : The way to handle right-wing talking heads: Alain Badiou
I Can Has Communism

Seeing so many threads on Glenn Beck, I had to recommend the comrades here to see this video of Alain Badiou on BBC Hardtalk and how he coolly swats away the barrage of non-sequiturs and criticisms by the right-wing TV host.

"Does anyone outside of Parisian cafe society believe that Communism is the answer" ?

What a big fart. Always the same bullshit intellectual fashion with these scholars. Can they ever not ad neo- or new in front of everything that hasn't change substantially at all. What pointless clutter. I really wish they would stop with this empty word game.
He says one true thing though. There is a lack of vision, a failure of imagination and an alternative system set-up is not clearly espoused among the general public.

well neo liberals are different than liberals and so on and so forth so I think it makes sense if used in the right context which he does. It does get frustrating in the US though because no one here knows what any of those words mean. Neo liberals are the same as communists and progressives and anyone any further left than Hilary Clinton.

There is now such thing as new atheists or neo-atheists. There is nothing new about imperialism. There is no neo-imperialism. Its an unsubstantial change that diplomatic and financial means are used more the direct military ones. These are the closest examples of words that are being abused by scholars with a re-name obsession.

I can agree with that although I think the terms neo-liberal and neo-conservative make sense to especially in US political context. It does get too much though sometimes.
